The Implicit Punishment of Daring to Go to College When Poor

I think this comment is effective, awesome and impressive. Not only because it is “Times Pick” but also it resonates with the readers. Eva relates this issue to the readers, even though I am financially supported by my family but we all know a lot of people are suffering from debt as students. She made it even specific on this--30 hours.
She lists three classes -the rich, middle and poor- , point out how difficult the poor to be successful and let us put ourselves in the shoes with real life examples. The true root problem is college could be luxurious to those who cannot afford and it could be bubble(meaningless). Good comments make people thinking after thinking.
I think this comment is effective and credible. James used some great quotes in his comments and cruel, nude facts that many “successful” people stole the education opportunity from the poor. In the end, he comforts the honest people who follow the rule that they deserve better which is positive influence to society.

Your Dog Feels as Guilty as She Looks

I think this comment is effective and remarkable. A comment/person who holds an opposite opinion is always eye-catching. It is okay to have a different opinion with someone. The way Doug listing out example like “eg….”and definition “an expression of shame...” is very caring. And Dough summarizes his/her point in one long sentence, this argument looks deep-thinked.
I think this reply under the comment is effective. CKH must read carefully and think about the comment so it is well-analyzed. CKH thinks about it from another perspective---dogs. The comment is from a dog trainer, in this position people always think they have more controlling and ignore what they miss. Thinking from both side is really important to learn and practice!

I think this reply is effective and awesome. The comment is just judging how unscientific the author’s views on animal emotion are without doing any research. The reply points out a very good tip which we should remember: ”If we want evidence supporting our beliefs to that of the author, we have to read scientific papers, not op-eds.” Also, an appropriate way to say-out subjective opinion apparently differs from subjective opinion of this author, not something we can invalidate or validate scientific studies with. (Ana) She is polite as well and @ who she replies to.

I think this comment is ineffective. Jim is judging the author just because the author has a different opinion than his. Also, he doesn’t do any research on this issue so his words are not credible at all. He should go find some real kinds of stuff from journal article and science paper to support his view. Maybe during his research, new ideas pop up and he may found out his thoughts are not quite right.

Let’s stop stressing out our kids with career choice pressure | Opinion

I think this comment is very ineffective. I even think Paradoc2 didn’t even review the article carefully. He prompts the people to vote Democrat just for stay-at-home ‘stipend’ which is not persuasive at all and didn’t do much research on it. His opinion is very extreme and suggest young blood to be  bound to be satisfied with the present and will not strive for the better, hold back before all difficulties and decline in inaction and laziness. Ridiculous! He is wasting taxpayers money.

I think this reply is ineffective. The article’s main idea is “Social expectations and roles are set not just after a family has been formed, but before — during pregnancy.” The comment he replies at least paraphrased from a law professor and brought up many good thoughts. But this guy is arguing men have the ability to take care of the kids without doing any research. He should do some research before he types…

I think lysakat’s comment is ineffective. He denies his whole heart without doing any research. Everybody he knows or imagines think the system is broken doesn’t stand for it is real. What most of the people think is not always right. If he went research, listed some statistics of how many people die because they cannot afford medications, how many people travel to other countries to get treatment and how many of them were successfully cured, his opinion would be more mature and credible

You don’t have to live close to wildfires for them to kill you

I think his comment is ineffective. First of all, this op-ed is about environmental science but it seems like he is too into politics so that relates everything with Mr. Trump and DC. Looks like he commented in a wrong place. I believe there are certain statistics about how many trumpisits does not believe in a particulate pollution health hazard, if he looks it up, his words would be more credible.
